Title: Toronto
Title: Toronto
This painting is a botanic abstract on a 36” by 36” canvas.
This is the first painting in my series #thepaintedplaylist where I choose a song and paint what I feel while listening.
This exercise surprised me.
Instead of painting what the song was communicating (a rather depressing breakup) I was just captured by the title, Toronto.
It took me back through my memories.
I have so many great memories of Toronto. The orange autumn leaves, the grey streets, the quaint townhouses and this one record store where I could have spent half a day! It was these autumn memories from my time in Toronto that mixed with the this blue melancholy tone of this song to produce this painting.
“Every piece of our memory”
by Tusks
Oh, what do you mean?
I don't feel your passion for anything
I don't feel your love reach me
I'll stay where I can breathe at least
Oh, darling, throw damage from afar
Hollow me out
And turn me down to someone we both can't love now
Edging your scars around Toronto
Oh, darling what have you done
You threw away without a second thought
And the words, they burn in my life
Your eyes are closed, you're just killing off
Every piece of our memory
I'm just wasting on a line until you leave
It's too late now to give me life
You're in my heart, right through your eyes
You're just fluttering
Toronto
