There was this day, when I had to do a thing.
A thing that I really didn’t want to do, that was causing me stress. Out of procrastination I painted instead.
This painting is the result.
When I look at this painting, I am grateful for the moment of stress-relief it provided. It was a space where I could play with some calming cool colours - blues and greens. But it was also a space to have a little fun with the brighter pinks and floral vibes. For me, it was a great journey of discovery on an afternoon where I needed the distraction.
Some people have looked at this painting and said that it feels eerie, confused or that it looks like a swamp. They feel like it has an anxious or melancholy tone. Others have looked at it and thought that it was an abstract image of mother nature, soothing and calming in it’s approach.
I honestly don’t know what it is. But I loved the journey of discovery while I painted it.
Sometimes, it’s best not to examine something too closely and just accept it for the random brush strokes that is is.
